The artist is an Iraqi-born photographer currently residing in New York City.
He began photographing in 2004 and, contrary to prevalent trends, his journey with the medium has, from a technical standpoint, been regressive. Having started in digital photography, he moved, through first curiosity and then preference, to working primarily in silver-gelatin film and other "alternative process" methods. "Craft" for him has been as integral a part of the photographic experience as the capturing of images.
Selected group exhibitions in which his work has featured include:
Clues to Identity, International Center of Photography (ICP) Education Gallery, New York, New York, USA, September 4, 2009 - January 3, 2010
Sensory Prelude, International Center of Photography (ICP) Education Gallery, New York, New York, USA, March 7- April 6, 2008
Friends of Project Basho, Project Basho Gallery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, November 8-30, 2007
